Fees for the above
rate may be paid directly to your instructor prior
to the beginning of each lesson or mailed directly
to First Note, Inc. Please make checks payable to
First Note, Inc. There will be a $31.00 service
charge for all returned checks. If you wish to pay
by credit card, you may do so online through our
secured website or debited on the 1st week
of each month for the scheduled lessons in that
month, until such time that we receive written
notice from you to stop. Failure to pay for 2
consecutive lessons will result in a stoppage of
lessons until the account is brought current.
Musical skills are
the foundation of hard work and consistent
monitoring from an instructor. Since it is our
desire that our students gain the greatest possible
benefit from their lessons, we suggest the
following guidelines:
-
The students
daily practice time shall be at least one
half-hour in length
-
The
student is responsible to promptly purchase all
materials and music as requested by the teacher
-
Lessons should be
taken continuously, on a weekly basis, or as
mutually agreed upon (If temporary schedule
conflicts arise, make-up lessons are required,
those make-up days and times may be arranged
through your teacher directly)
Lesson Reschedule:
We understand
that emergencies* may arise that make it necessary to
reschedule your weekly lesson. In the event of
accidents, family emergencies, or illness, we ask that
you give your teacher as much notice as possible. In
other circumstances if you do not contact your teacher
24 hours prior to your lesson to reschedule (within 4
weeks), you will be charged the full lesson rate. There
is no charge for teacher cancellations.
*Emergencies do not
include sports events, camps, or other such activities
and lack of practice time is considered an unexcused
absence. Unexcused absences will not be rescheduled and
charged as usual.
The
following lesson dates shall be automatically considered
canceled without monetary obligation or required
make-ups: New Year's Eve, New Years Day, Easter Day,
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. All
other holidays are to be rescheduled.
Termination of Lessons:
If you wish to
terminate lessons on a permanent basis, or make a
schedule change involving more than 4 weeks, 30 days
written notice is required. Once notice is received, you
are obligated to complete the scheduled lessons. The
student is encouraged to contact Tammy Calderon, the
director, with any comments or complaints about the
lessons or instructor(s). While it is our hope to
provide you a quality, long-term teacher, First Note
Inc. does reserve the right to substitute instructors
with notice to the student, should it become necessary.
Please be advised that all instruction given by First
Note, Inc. is avocational. We offer no degree or
diplomas.
The
student and/or the students parent or guardian agree not
to hold First Note Inc. liable for any injury or
accident that occurs involving instructors.
Please note that all instructors have a contract with
First Note Inc., which prevents them from conducting
lessons independently of our school.. Our ability to
continue providing our service to the metro and
surrounding areas is absolutely hinged on this
principle. You are therefore asked to please refrain
from any direct solicitations, and avoid putting
yourself or your instructor in an uncomfortable
position. This rule applies not only to lessons given
during the instructors tenure with First Note
Inc., but also for one full year following the teachers
contract expiration date. We appreciate your cooperation
in this.
Good
luck and have fun!
